This years E3 escalated and heated the formerly unspoken rivalry between MW3 and BF3. On Monday, Bobby Kotick, Activision Blizzard’s CEO, hopped on CNBC, stating that Battlefield 3 was merely a PC title with a insufficient target group. In retaliation, John Riccitiello, EA's CEO, commented on the matter and made clear that Kotick was "spreading misinformation" about Battlefield 3 and that it will be also be available for the consoles.

To further amplify the battle, both men had their own statements regarding this matter.

I can’t objectively tell you what I think of other products until I see them. Battlefield I’ve only seen on a PC and nobody’s seen it on a console yet. Most of our consumers play games on a console. Until I see it on a console, I wouldn’t be objective on commenting on it

It’s the beginning of the war and (Kotick) recognizes they’re going to be threatened. We’re going to have a clash of the titans this fall. The very fact that he’s trying to cast doubt on our game is a perfect example of how we got his goat. In terms of where this goes, we think our PS3 game is better than their Xbox game and our PC game is better than their PC game. If that’s all he’s got to say, it’s obviously going to evaporate as we launch all three. If you went to our press conference, you saw the PS3 footage and the Xbox footage. If Bobby thinks that is PC footage, he’s in real trouble.

Hmm, it seems as if Kotich was a bit more reserved in his response whereas Riccitiello came out swinging. He himself stated that "it's the beginning of war." He went on to mock Kotick's ignorance with his last sentence: "If Bobby thinks that is PC footage, he’s in real trouble." This, to me, just made the whole rivalry that much better! BF3 looked to really push the standards whereas MW3 looks like a polished version of MW2. However, I can't truly judge until I've played both, but from the looks of it, BF3 seems superior.

Level Trustworthy 3!
I definitely will get both games. But, I would prefer BF3 for the realism and CoD to play with my friends. :y:

Battlefield 3 will destroy MW3 when it comes to actual quality, Mw3 will win in sales purely because every 8 year old and its mother will but anything with the name call of duty on it.

If you think Battlefield is a crap game, you should get up off of your knees from in front of Activision and play some Battlefield BC2, its only about $20 these days and its worth it.

I'd rather a legit game where the developers don't take every shortcut possible in making it (cod uses the same engine over and over again, same multiplayer system, same shit spawns, I could go on) and oh did I remember to mention their overpowered guns/perks/killstreaks/everything?

Cod is fun if you just like to muck around, and not play seriously at all, when you die in cod you go oh F*cking noob tuber, when you die in Battlefield you go sh*t I f*cked up there.

The best thing to do for now is compare the trailers:

Battlefield 3 is and will be a far batter game than MW3. However, whether people will see and recognize this over what they play already (CoD) is the real challenge for Bf3.

Who dares, wins.
Every COD is just a re-polished version of the last with different maps and guns. Battlefield is offering far more than what they did in BF 2 and bad company. I think I know what game I'm buying.

MW3 will have better SP, but BF3 will have the superior MP - and this is the game for those who really like it to get as real as it gets hehe.
So yea, I will sure get them both, but MW3 will only be for SP/Platinum then collect dust, and BF3 is gonna be the game I play everyday, 24/7 (as with BC2 - my favourite game).
