It seems as if this rivalry between the two companies is constantly broadening. Frank Gibeau, EA's President, added more fuel to the already burning fire by attacking the whole idea of Activision's "COD Elite," - a new feature in the upcoming MW3 where players must subscribe to gain access so some online features.

Frank said, "a conscious decision – we do not believe you should charge for social features. Social features attract gamers and create engagement, but if you want to talk about business strategy, it enhances how you monetise content. But I shouldn’t charge you to talk to your friends, or to learn how you did inside the game." Seems like a reasonable statement, and it implies that EA cares more about consumer satisfaction and that they aren't taking advantage of a previously free of charge feature. I'm loving this feud, however. It's getting my hyped for both games and I just might make the switch to EA this year...

They are, the whole COD series gives em enough money.. yet, on top of that, they add maps packs and shit too, which we have to pay for.. :n: BF3 is heading more towards realism and I miss that in games. I'm getting MW3 for the campaign because they never fail to impress me, but as far as online, I'm not paying shit. BF3 looks like the better game this year from what I've seen so far. Actually, I might just rent MW3 for the campaign so they don't get my $$

You dont have to own a pass or a vip code to play online. You only miss some maps/functions. And if you got it from a friend just ask for a game share. If you are renting/lost your code/your friend wont gameshare you can also just make a call to ea and say that you have lost your code. Have done it for skate 3 and bfbc2. OR you can buy VIP of playstation store for like 10 bucks I think?

Face it activision is hungry motha fuggin whores. Makes a map pack with 5 cost 20 dollars while ea are handing em out for free.

thats what im doing. renting it. and bf3 has dedicated servers!!!!. and the money activision has and we have never had a dedicated server. EA says the dedicated server will help them against hackers/glitches. the #1 thing COD is known for. No
