Ever since the Xbox 360 introduced cross-game chat to its Xbox Live users, enabling them to party up with and chat with players in other games, PlayStation 3 fans have wondered when Sony would implement such a feature on the PSN. As it turns out, the reason we've been waiting so long for this feature, is because the PS3 simply cannot do it. There are memory restrictions in place that would make it impossible Shuhei Yoshida said.

A RAM usage feature of the console prevents a cross-game chat feature, Yoshida You must login or register to view this content..

Quote: "Once a game gets RAM we never give it back," he said. "It's not possible to retrofit something like that after the fact...The game has to use its own memory to do in-game voice chat. There's always voice chat in the game. But it's part of a game feature. It's not part of an OS feature. That's the reason in terms of the ability to have voice chat across different games."

So what do you have to say about this? Leave some feedback and your opinion's in a post below! Hopefully they will bring this feature into the Ps4 though.

Yes, such as Xbox has cross-game chat while PS3 doesn't, although the PS3 doesn't sound like a Harrier going through the sound barrier Awesome face
i think i'd prefer a silent console than a console that i couldn't use the chat feature with because of the noise :fa:

This never bothered when I had a PS3, but now that I have an xbox that's one thing I say Sony shouldn't slack on whenever there will be a new Sony console.

Ahhh who cares, PS3 can still read blu rays and browse the web for free. Also thats why games have voice chat if you wanna talk to someone on another game just message them or invite them to text chat lol.
