Yes, it's coming, and the wait is almost over! It was announced for Xbox back at E3 in June a few months back, but no release information was confirmed. However, Mojang has now revealed that the game will be available on xbox live arcade in spring 2012.
This version of the game will first be playable at MineCon that is a Minecraft fan event that takes place in Vegas, this year it will be on November 18th +19th. This event will also celebrate the release of the full minecraft game on PC, this is currently in beta state, and has sold over 4 million copies worldwide. More information about the release will be available during MineCon in November.

Personal view

I personally hate Minecraft and find it is the most pointless game out there, I will not be buying it.

But if you like Minecraft and own an Xbox 360, get it! I'm sure it will impress users, although I believe the PC version will be more impressive because I believe this is the platform the game was originally made for

PC is going to still be dormant for MC...ill but it on xbox for sure but im still pc all the way

Minecraft for xbox? Would be proper shit anyways.... Doubt there will be any servers/less items because it will probably lag with too many/ No mods at all... PC > XBOX

It's not even worth porting to Xbox, since most of the Minecraft community relies on user-created modifications, plus the online aspects would be unfeasable. :n:

Without the user created modifications, minecraft just isn't fun. I HATE vanilla minecraft, I see nothing wrong with modded servers however.

Minecraft for Xbox is NOT a good idea. \:
