In early April took Polyphony Digital and Sony first action against players who were traveling with modified game data in the Real Driving Simulator. The affected online IDs have been inhibited and the players that have no access to the online services of GT5.
Now comes the next step against cheaters. With the release of Gran Turismo 5 Update 2:12 Polyphony Digital initiates the next step against unauthorized changes to the game data.
The only 24 megabyte patch is specifically designed apparently to remove or reset the game data that have not changed within specification. For example, vehicles are removed or set to factory condition, have not been modified in any way in the correct frame according to a statement from GTPlanet readers.
Other changes, which are carried out with the installation of the update 2:12, are not known. An official changelog has not been published. The patch will be automatically downloaded and installed 5 and active online connection with the next launch of Gran Turismo.
