Post: Beyond 2.12 - What still works, and what doesn't.
04-23-2013, 12:11 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Could we use this thread to track what the effects of 2.12 are? For the public interest. I'll keep the OP updated as news comes in.

We know that:
- Cars with hybrid parts (chassis, drivetrains) have been returned to stock.
- Car data now read from game data, rather than save data.
- X2010 JP no longer displayed.
- Special Gift items, (such as the L4/L5 turbos, L4/L5 weight reduction and triple plate clutch) can still be applied.
- Special tyres (RSS, SSS, (C), (V)) still usable.
- BHP multiplier no longer in effect.

Can someone confirm if :

- Stock cars with HP/Grip multipliers are affected.
- Settings changed beyond standard range are affected (Downforce/ridge height/etc)
- Gift items are affected
- Gift tickets are affected
- Money/XP levels have been altered
- Anything else?

My modded or "created" Redbull X1 5G is now a legitimate 5G. Name no longer says "RedBull X2010 Prototype". And it has all of the stock 5G specs.

And I still have 999,999,999 on my Dummy account (On my media PS3 we use for Blu-Ray and Netflix and whatnot) I updated it and everything stated above was reset like the patch would, yet all of my A/B spec are still 40 and I have 999,999,999 credits.

In early April took Polyphony Digital and Sony first action against players who were traveling with modified game data in the Real Driving Simulator. The affected online IDs have been inhibited and the players that have no access to the online services of GT5.

Now comes the next step against cheaters. With the release of Gran Turismo 5 Update 2:12 Polyphony Digital initiates the next step against unauthorized changes to the game data.

The only 24 megabyte patch is specifically designed apparently to remove or reset the game data that have not changed within specification. For example, vehicles are removed or set to factory condition, have not been modified in any way in the correct frame according to a statement from GTPlanet readers.

Other changes, which are carried out with the installation of the update 2:12, are not known. An official changelog has not been published. The patch will be automatically downloaded and installed 5 and active online connection with the next launch of Gran Turismo.

(although it would be a boring process to apply 12 engine upgrades one after the other).

If that is possible then the patch won't have really changed much at all, could just become a pain to get certain cars with more power since not all cars take the item upgrades very well. I've never looked into the 'hacked' items until the new patch so I don't know that much about it.

funny you say this because my boy said we should see if we can use horns as hp multipliers. Like if u installed a certain horn it would give a 05-09 hp x or for the ppl that want that ff speed. Or say if u installed a certain horn you get a engine from a certain car ( rb26dett for a s15) idk if this makes sense or can it even work???

It's probably possible since Slim managed to create his own parts, I'm not too sure how it actually works with parts though, the hex behind them. You can probably make something like a stage 12 turbo to instantly give a bigger hp boost to some cars. Whether you can add hp to a horn or make it a hp multiplier I don't know, if horns are still read from local save u might be able to, if they changed horns to game data then probably not.

You can get a higher hp by also increasing the amount of items on your car through hex by multiplying the stage of the upgrade.

Well we cant swap engines or chassis and suspensions... but the hidden parts still being usable, i think that is a more legit way to mod cars.. remember that easter eggs are included into the game code, but i dont know if PD wants to patch that too. i still improving my cars with stages 4-5 (turbos, weigth reduction, engine...)and i can use supersoft tyres...
There is a little glitch that i discover few days ago.. in gt auto you have the option to do a "racing modification in some cars" well... if you hybrid a car before install any perfomance part and take it to gt auto, try to do a racing modification, first it dont cost any money, and second you can increase the HP, ... the car returns to the standart color and wheels but you can repaint it in gt auto or using the garage editor again. Sorry about my bad english
