Post: Beyond 2.12 - What still works, and what doesn't.
04-23-2013, 12:11 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Could we use this thread to track what the effects of 2.12 are? For the public interest. I'll keep the OP updated as news comes in.

We know that:
- Cars with hybrid parts (chassis, drivetrains) have been returned to stock.
- Car data now read from game data, rather than save data.
- X2010 JP no longer displayed.
- Special Gift items, (such as the L4/L5 turbos, L4/L5 weight reduction and triple plate clutch) can still be applied.
- Special tyres (RSS, SSS, (C), (V)) still usable.
- BHP multiplier no longer in effect.

Can someone confirm if :

- Stock cars with HP/Grip multipliers are affected.
- Settings changed beyond standard range are affected (Downforce/ridge height/etc)
- Gift items are affected
- Gift tickets are affected
- Money/XP levels have been altered
- Anything else?

You must login or register to view this content.

1. When you first run the program right below the words "File" (without quotes) you will see five (5) tabs. The very first tab is named "Global". Move your mouse across to the tab named "Items" and then left click on it.
2. When you click on "Items" tab you will see the following screenshot above (hopefully slim355/q-k wouldn't mind me reusing their images).
3. Go down to the section where it says "Tune Items". There you will see a set of four (4) buttons with two (2) buttons at the front that has down arrows. They are called drop down menus. Click on the second one where you will see at first it says "Weight Stage 1", from the drop down list you will see all the Items you could add into your save game. Now scroll down to where it says "Super High RPM Turbo Kit" and "Ultra High RPM Turbo Kit". It will be with all the other ranges of turbos such as "Low RPM Turbo Kit", "Medium RPM Turbo Kit" and "High RPM Turbo Kit". "Super High RPM Turbo Kit" is your "Stage 4 Turbo Kit" whereas "Ultra High RPM Turbo Kit" is your "Stage 5 Turbo Kit".
4. Select the one you want initially (you can select others later). Now from where there was the drop down list for all the various items, each of these items are classed in their own appropriate categories. It may not be required to do this but you might as well do it for keepsakes. To the left of that big button of drop down list with items, click on Body/Chassis. Drop down list will appear with all the various categories. Click on "Turbo Kit".
5. Once that is set you can either click "Add Item" which adds one item everytime you click or you can click "Add 10" which adds ten (10) exactly the same item as you chose everytime you click.
6. Once you are happy adding the items you want, make sure to go into "File" and then "Close Garage" otherwise changes may not be saved.:dumb:

You can keep your stealths and chromelines as long as you enter and exit them in lobbys only because the name won't update if you

are in a lobby, it only updates if you are in your actual garage.

So there is no how to create a FF or AWD car coverted to FR, even if i create a car from the scratch using pieces from diferent cars?

Alright. here we go

- Stock cars with HP/Grip multipliers are affected. Hp multiplier does not work. you can multiply the turbo though.
- Settings changed beyond standard range are affected (Downforce/ridge height/etc) you can drop the DF to zero I dont think you can add more than the car allows in the game. you cant chance ride height. on a car without a trans (tank car or electric cars) you can change trans settings.
- Gift items are affected all gift items work except Nitro
- Gift tickets are affected All gift cars work Except XXXXXXX and JP Flag Color
- Money/XP levels have been altered Level change, money change, all events gold all work just fine.
- Anything else? you can still change what kinda car is in a white ticket so you can send any car.

Being a bit vague aren't we? Smile If you legitimately bought the collector's edition there would be nothing wrong with those stealth cars as they would also be legitimately purchased. If they were in some "donor shell" and you did not have the collector's edition you would probably not get access to them with 2.12 after one or two game startups or so I've read.

The same case goes with every other DLC for GT5 as well. Illegitimate purchases will most likely get nullified sooner or later.

Wrong. they are way easier to do after 2.12 all you need is the body code for any dlc car to make one of your own
