@sinister, 86 sounds interesting, been reading regulations: You must login or register to view this content.
And figured points out from there:
Not allowed to alter ride height, allowed only by changing spring tension, not lenght, so we have to decide locked ride height to be some, like that where it drops after custom suspension, or some other, stock height would be more correct imo.
"Street tires" - maybe CS or SH?
No anti-sway bar aka arb, what value we keep, stock or you check differences of stock actual values and we take close to that on custom susp.

No engine tuning stages.
No weight reducing? Except some minor, means maybe allowing stage 1, nothing else.
No ballast? Prefer no to keep challenge.

Intake upgrade - ok
Sports cat - ok
Ecu sports - ok
Turbos - no no
Sports exhaust? Race exhaust? - maybe only sports imo.
Exhaust manifold - no no, only stock.
Transmission - no no, stock
Clutch - no no, stock
Drive shaft upgrade - no no, stock
LSD - yes, free usage, any value.

What else?

Roll cage? - body rigidity improvement, legal or not?

Its too bad those are 2003 regulations and not more up to date, Im not sure if there are any changes so I still have to source more recent info, the 8-6 family only hit the streets for the first time 9 years after this was posted.

With an inability to drop the car with simple springs no, that wouldn't be cool IMO, sure in 2003 (could be current) we can't adjust the perch of an adjustable coil over but different springs will drop the car using the stock perch, or springs same size but different stiffness will comp different, we can use spacers to accommodate various springs so we can adjust ride height. Yes its a direct way of doing it but fine, I would not like no ride height adjusting as in fixed height..

Going for Street Touring Xtreme, I actually prefer to keep it all on Sports Soft to keep it uniform for Street cars. Maybe something in the future will go by Street vs Street Touring and then for Street Class we go for lower grade tires, but I've not thought through the next step until this one is further along.

sway bar tuning will be allowed. I believe its not allowed in Street but its fine in Street Touring, us going for STX I think we are fine.

Definitely no Engine Tuning

Stock weight and no ballast is what I was thinking, but will build car first before finalizing this .

Im thinking on this one too. Im leaning to no, but want to build the car and do some more research first..

What I think might be interesting is to build some of the other cars that race STX after to compete or leave it as an open tuner scenario and have a spec for each car eligible for the class.

Read regulations, kinda same as those old.. Btw Toyota gt86 isn't listed on STX, only scion frs and Subaru brz.. Smile

Its because SCCA is American and they don't sell the 8-6 under the Toyota brand in North America only the FR-S under Scion, and Subaru sells the BR-Z. We can get the badges for the 8-6 and swap them if we wanna be all "j-spec" cool but I think "8-6" is worked into all 3 in the details (8-6 & FR-s not the BR-z) lol all 3 are relatively the same car the FR-S and 8-6 probably a bit more similar than either and the BR-Z but all 3 pretty much the same. The 8-6 and FR-S both have the Boxer 86 side badges that are pretty cool.

Since we are more based on STX and not regionally fixed, I think its fine to include the 8-6 Happy

Nice find on the up-to-date regs, even if relatively or all the same pretty much it still better to have a more current reference, especially if the car we are running is 9 years after the fact. . For the most part I think we pretty much have most details worked out just a few things left to iron out.

Possibly useful tyre info:
You must login or register to view this content.

"Direzza ZII would more than compensate for its slightly taller diameter. Sure enough, lateral g-forces jumped to a very impressive 1.2 to 1.3 g in the corners, rivaling not only the best tires in class but also some of the DOT track/competition tires we've tested in recent years.

Read more: https://www.superstreetonline.com/how-to/wheels-tires/1404-dunlop-direzza-zii-tire-reviw/#ixzz3cwbpUKDK"

note that these have UTQG treadwear rating of 200... which is the lowest allowed in 2015 according to OdeFinn's linked pdf p71 (street category, but the street touring section references the street category specs too.)

Another guy who seemed to be doing some SCCA stuff hit 1.4 g in the corners on BFGoodrich Rivals (also UTQG 200)... not sure of his exact car class though.

So I'm guessing whatever gives 1.2-1.4 G in GT6 would be a good match.

Off topic - whilst looking at random tyres i came across Hoosier R7's... and they're road legal (but Hoosier advise against it). Unbelievable! I reckon if someone spat on the racetrack, those tiny grooves wouldn't be able to displace it.

A quick eyeball of the lat G gauge (single player, brz courtesy car) was giving ~1.3 G on SH tyres. SM was 1.4 ish. Guessing with tuning that things should only go up (hopefully!)
