Car Info
"The Vision Gran Turismo project is the setting for the world's best automakers to develop concept cars for motorsports fanatics. The Mazda LM55 Vision Gran Turismo pushes the boundaries at the intersection of technology and design. This is not your traditional Mazda but a vision of the future with a healthy dose of respect for the past. It’s the product of setting your sights on outright victory at the world’s most demanding endurance race, the famed 24 Heures du Mans.
For the design of the Mazda LM55 Vision Gran Turismo, the Mazda Design team blended agility with elegance. Its dynamic silhouette is drawn with sensual forms inspired by Mazda’s Kodo design philosophy. Even the shape of the front grille is an interpretation of the Mazda signature front end developed for its production vehicles. The stance of the Mazda LM55 Vision Gran Turismo, reminiscent of the famed 787 B that took overall victory at the 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans, is powerful yet graceful.
The Mazda LM55 Vision Gran Turismo barely tips the scale with lightweight, carbon fiber components, including a monocoque chassis clad in striking atmospheric-white paint. Pair this with advanced drive train technology that offers the epitome of power, efficiency and durability and the result is an exceptional power to weight ratio exceeding that of most cars in its class.
The Mazda LM55 Vision Gran Turismo is Mazda’s vision of the future born of their unrelenting challenger spirit."
My Interpretation
The car is a tribute to the LeMans racing pedigree that Mazda has and with setting some records in 1991 its well deserved. While the car is paying homage to the 787b RENOWN 55 its a look to the future and so I am glad they have not used the RENOWN 55 Livery & instead use a new look completely, a very elegant look, understated and IMO all Business.
Technology
Looking at what I believe would be the future of LMP1 racing in 2020 if they let the Rotary back in, but they kept it a bit more I guess "old school" opting out of using a hybrid system. I don't see much future tech aside from design for a LMP with different regulations. The most noteworthy feature would be the top mounted exhaust similar to the 918 Spider I would think is being used to create a large low pressure zone to aid downforce. And there is the I would think Race Spec RENESIS.
Interesting after an oil change the hp is 831hp and with a weight of 830kg the power to weight ratio is 1 to 1
Sound
The sound on the Beast is Epic, Sounds like a racing engine screaming through the rpm. Its IMO not as mean as the ViSiV I rank this the second best sounding car in GT6.
OP Updated, each VGT has a dedicated post click the image of the car in the OP to go directly to each dedicated post. I will add more info to them soon, hoping to have as much specifics about each car as possible.
The Mazda LM55 is a great car for the S Class Event "24 Min of LeMans" I had a fun time running the event today with a factory power (791hp) car with a little Rac3rX tuning on it with all assist turned off, even the driving line & ABS tuned off. I ran a clean race, only had one corner where my rears locked and I slid a bit but I saved it & still managed to take the corner clean. Came home with another win.
The cabin area lower section looks like the underside of a boat with air channeled between the lower cabin bucket and the wheel arches. I assume they are using the venturi effect through these sections & some turbulence reduction like the tub section is the bottom of the car and the rest is all controlled underside flat floor diffuser stuff.
Looks like it has a lot of "throwback" to it. Looking at cars like the 1968 Alpine A220 the rear side fins the extend out the back look very similar That car also a Renault Alpine.
What I do not see on the VGT Renault Alpine are exhaust, is this car going to be full electric? I do not know but it looks like a possibility.
Maybe Alpine is doing a Future concept for what if LeMans went all electric with some throwback style . No wing though throws me off a bit. Are they suggesting the air through body control results in crazy downforce that eliminates the need for a wing, maybe a lot of downforce with very little drg vs the wings high downforce with high drag and maybe foreseeing this allowing speeds to get higher
Which reminds me of, I still haven't found the time to pull some other VGT sketches that to my knowledge are not yet viewable in game..
Not the Alpine, though.. Something else

What? Hmmmmm the reveal on the Alpine is scheduled for the 28th this month, I wonder. Last time you talked about hidden Mazda VGT Pics and specs and a week later we had the car. I got nothing Im expecting so like the Mazda Im expecting what you have to be a complete surprise.
Is anything in there already for the Alpine also, I guess no pics, maybe specs or something?
