My Interpretation
The Mercedes Benz offering to the Vision GT Project has 2 versions available, the regular version (if you can call it regular) and the Racing Series. Unlike all other VGT cars to date the Street Edition MB AMG VGT can be upgrade like most street cars in GT6 with performance upgrades. I will take a look at both both versions of the car and I will also test drive a fully upgraded edition.
The Mercedes Benz AMG Vision GT in my opinion is a car I believe focused on promoting the Brand inside the GT6 environment. I believe the car is purely for GT6 with no plans to bring the car design to the real world. The car is not demonstrating anything new to Mercedes Benz as far as technology is concerned. The active wing is already seen on the SLR, the only aspect truly unique to the car is the chassis and styling. The cars proportions are bold and aggressive, the stance and curb appeal is sinister. The final design reminiscent of a throw-back to Classic Gangsters Era automobiles with a long menacing front end, set back cabin and sloped rear roof line with a modern edge. The car also has a tricked out lighting package getting PlayStation buttons (X, /\, [], O ) incorporated into the headlamps and a LED front grill that puts on a light show.
In my eyes the full scale model we see is a mock up car. Basically the clay model with an active wing, lights and RC controls. I would assume it has an electric motor and if it makes an engine sound its probably speaker generated.
There is also Buzz that somebody might actually make a few of these
I think it can be assumed that Mercedes Benz has no plan to ever produce anything even remotely close to this VGT concept. Things might change as plans are not set in stone. Buzz over the car may see the concept or a car inspired by it realized. I think Mercedes Benz did not see far past the GT6 environment when building this concept, it being the first released Vision GT it was unclear what impact the Vision GT Project would have on real world production & even as the project unfolds and evolves its still unclear but does appear to already be making an impact.
My Interpretation
The BMW Vision GT takes the M3 now the M4 platform to the unrestricted Touring Car level of performance. BMW has been putting out the GT car versions of the M3 and most certainly will follow suit with the M4, I believe the BMW VGT is a concept of how BMW would like to build its GT Race Car out of a Concept next generation M4 but presented as almost a streetable version. It looks to share some styling cues with the M4 aside from the usual BMW features however different enough to wonder how a base model version would look next to a M4, is this a Concept for the next generation M4? I do not know. I love the look of the M4 however I love the styling of the BMW Vision GT a lot more.
The BMW Vision GT is the best looking BMW I have ever seen IMO if this is the direction at all of the next Gen M4 BMW I am a happy car nut. I fear this is very much like the Mercedes Benz AMG VGT in that it was designed purely for the GT6 environment with no plans to come to the real world. The M4 is so new that my hopes the BMW VGT is somewhat a next gen M4 concept cant be propped up too high and need to be taken with a grain of salt, however there is no reason for BMW not to use the design for inspiration when designing the next gen M4.
Also similar to the MB AMG VGT there is nothing technological about the car that is outside of current BMW production aside from the extreme aero package, the styling is where the main differences are albeit the Mercedes Benz AMG VGT is much more "concept" than the BMW. The BMW is not an extreme design as far as the VisionGT line up is to date (aside from the XR-PHEV), and especially after the X2 gets released, it is however such a breath taking car I can't help but wish its a concept for the next generation M4.
I don't believe BMW has even made a Demo full scale model of the car. I think the design is purely digital unlike many of the VGT cars that have full scale versions presented. I hope that as more VGT cars get released with real world unveiling of the full scale models inspires BMW to build a full scale version, maybe get some additional Buzz on the car months after its been released as it was kinda a Surprise appearance after an update.
My Interpretation
The XR-PHEV Evolution VisionGT is a Concept Racing Car built on the Concept PHEV platform. It uses the PHEV KERS type hybrid technology & the Evo AWD system with AYC. Interestingly the Demo video for the car has video of the car driving off road rally style showcasing the cars off road performance. If you look at the Concept PHEV and the Vision GT version its hard to find differences aside from the accentuated line here and there & obvious racing inspired aero package.
The XR-PHEV Evo VGT shows to me that Mitsubishi is very much focused on the real world PHEV concept, they are using the VisionGT Program to promote the PHEV platform as the new direction of Mitsubishi. The car is exciting in the game and attacks corners as I would expect an Evo to do both on and off road, but not the package or styling I would of gone with. The overall shape I like, but the headlights and new grill direction are IMHO horrible and because they are such a huge part of how the car looks, it doesn't "look good" to me.
With no confirmation the next gen Evo is in the works Im looking for signs of possibility from Mitsubishi & looking at the XR-PHEV Evolution VisionGT I believe this may be the direction of the Evolution breaking off from the Lancer moving to this new CUV platform as a return to a type of new Pajero Evolution Rally Raid Car. Just theories at this point, maybe Mitsubishi will wake up and revive the Lancer Evo or maybe I need to wake up a realize the Lancer Evo as we knew it may be a lost cause for the company as a viable product. I think in my eyes the Lancer Evo has been the car that identifies Mitsubishi as a Brand, its quite possible Mitsubishi sees that too and wants to shift its own identity in a new direction, the Pajero Evolution Rally Raid Car did win the Drakar Rally back in the late 90's.
Im a little dissapointed looking at the AMG VGT after looking at the Silver Arrow Concept.
Clearly they have some similarities but the Silver Arrow WOWsers in comparison and ohh so much more "Vision" in it.
Where is Merc going with these? Both the VGT & Slver arrow are long front ends with set back cabins and slopped back ends. Some real Gangster Era Luxury meets same Era Grand Prix in a futuristic package. Talk about a serious mash of historic & futuristic. I love them, but cant help ask "is this going anywhere?" I want to see some form of these heading in the direction of Production PLEASE Mercedes-Benz, this is an epic direction to take the Brand design. Im all for it.
Yeah, Infinity take on the 2020 VGT Chassis, and I like the Fluid Styling, so traditional with the G series relationship to the GTR Now just to find out if its RWD or AWD and if its gonna have ERS, KERS or Nada

My Interpretation
VW every few year build a crazy concept car, they made a mid engine GTI believe it or not. This time its in GT6 and the do not disappoint. The make a Turbo AWD VR6 GTI Roadster with a fully detailed interior and even a Specialized Racing Suit. Scissor Style doors an aggressive aero package and combed dual center exhaust. This cars not only looks mean, it drives as good as it looks & has been one of my favorite to drive. Mated to 4motion the layout is very reminiscent of the R32 & while the GTI R is nice, its no replacement for the R32 maybe VW is thinking of bringing it back as the R30. Ventilated Ceramic Brakes on a GTI is impressive but I think will remain virtual for some years to come.
Technology
Powered by a 3.0L Twin Turbo VR6 TSI Engine that delivers 503hp. VW may be taking some lessons from HPA bringing back the VR6 in Twin Turbo spec but middle out the displacement at 3.0L probably new tech like TSI lets them keep power as if it were a 3.2L but still bigger than a 2.8 or 2.9L. 4Motion probably a much better set up than the one on the R32. 7 SPD DCT Transmission with Sports Programming, this is new to me I have to look into this "Sports Programming" sounds like something to get the DCT shifts even faster and more precise, Ill report back what I find. Massive Stopping power comes from Ventilated Ceramic Brakes.
Sound
Old Style Sound clips, not one of the worst, but not one of the best.
Sound
An old sound clip was used, Ive not analyzed it to see what one as there is nothing special to it. Old style, not the best, not the worst, the sound is okay.
Im a V-Dub guy having owned a MKII GTI VR6 Swapped Original 16v GTI so its no surprise this VGT is special to me. Here are some Pics of my MKII GTI VR6
Performance Specs
Front Engine 3.8L V6 Twin Turbo
ERS AWD KERS OverBoost
697hp @ 6500rpm
1575kg 50/50
My Interpretation
I think Nissan learned a lot about the GT-R in the development of the NISMO GT-R. I believe they realize that the next steps in the evolution of the GT-R are 2 things. Hybrid Systems & Advanced Aerodynamics. When designing the 2020 VGT I believe they explored the addition of these directions to the NiSMO GT-R. Taking the GT3 power plant and adding 3 electric motors to it & 2 MGU-H Turbos no waste gates. Adopting a FR-AWD System using torque vectoring on the front and high power on the rear trans-axle and LeMans downforce levels to contain it. Just in case all that is not enough hit the KERS OverBoost button for some extra grunt on demand as long as there is juice in the battery. Nissan took it a step further and used an active suspension to just take the GT-R to Hypercar Land. Are they shooting for the P1 & Spider or just everybody else. I dont know.
I do know that Nissan like what they saw so much they gave the green light to use elements of the 2020 VGT in the designs of the next generation GT-R, where it goes from here remains to be seen but Nissan has been pushing the limits of why a car can be without costing millions, lets hope they keep the GT-R in its accessible but still unacceptable price range compared to the P1 that might as well be made of Solid Gold
Technology
Adopting F1 style ERS to the already potent VR38DETT it puts out nearly 700hp. The ERS system includes 3 electric motors, 2 up front and one on the rear end transmission that make use of torque vectoring, the engine also has MGU-H generators on the turbos that spool up the turbos and act as the waste gate. The electric motors not only provide additional power on acceleration, there is a 2013 KERS style boost button for even more power from the electric motors and spools up the Turbos. It doesn't stop there as the 2020 VGT also makes use of an active suspension keeping the car planted adjusting the ride height to account for downforce and lift keeping the car at the ideal ride height in all types of conditions.
The Air Entering the front side inlet goes through the inner sides of the wheels, and is drawn out in an accelerated maner due to the exhaust under the front fender outlet. Behind this a point of flow is created in the rear fender allowing the air to escape behind, minimizing the turbulance behind the car. Aerodynamic design is for extreme ground effect. The Front upsweep which leads air from under the floor to the front fender outlet combined with the large rear diffuser creates a strong vacuum, producing downforce equivalent to that of racing cars. .Aggressive aerodynamics also include an active wing that lowers at 190mph & at 300km/h it produces 400kg of downforce. If we focusing on Air Flow, Nissan says the Nissan 2020 VGT has aerodynamics like that of a LeMans Racing Car, despite its shape.
It looks as though a new thing is using the exhaust to create low pressure zones to either aid airflow or create a vacuum to further improve grip and or aerodynamics.
Sound
They went with the sound clip from the GT3 Nismo, a good sounding car in GT6, but not epic and not using the AES system, Im glad they at least used one of the better old style sound clips for it.
