When you ran PSNpatch did you press L2 then UP on the Dpad then start? If so what happend after that? ie:messages

You don't need to run PSNPatch. It won't do anything that will affect whether it works or not.

Please don't confuse the matter with false information. PSNpatch is used to patch eboots made for higher firmwares to run on lower firmwares. The OP has already stated his firmware is not of a high enough version to run BF4 therefore the eboot needs to be patched. Using PSNpatch is by far the easiest way to do this for PSN games. The program does other things too but first we are trying to get the game to start.

Try this bud. It should work for u. And if it doesnt then. Switch on ur internet go on multiman. Then go to the game battleifiled and download the update tru multiman. It will download a pkg file. Once it has finished.exit multiman. Go on install package files and it will be there. Install the pkg file. Afterwards the game should load up .

He is using the PSN version of the game. It only shows up under Game Data and in multiMan when it is a disc based game.

That is not possible, something happened, either it when to another menu, show a list of files being patched, crashed you PS3, etc. Something happened, time and space did not cease to exist. what happened?

The reason I keep asking you if you bought the game or not is because if you didn't the answer is simple. 80010017 is the error you get when you did not install the rap file correctly. It means your PS3 is not authorized to run the game. The only other two times you get this error is when it can not read the disc, but you are not using a disc based version of the game so that is ruled out and when the firmware version is too low but that is usually 80010009 but has caused 80020017 errors in the past.

At this point I suggest you pirate the game. If you against pirating look at it this way, you already paid for the game so you are not really pirating it. Once you do that if you can't get the pirated copy to work at least we will be able to fix it.
To save download time I suggest you get a copy of PSN stuff and just get the rap file you need and install it. After that you will find lots of other stuff to get with PSN Stuff

Also if you gameshared this with more than one other person it would cause the same error.
