My PS3 freezes like every 40 seconds or when it doesn't it will freeze as soon as I play online

After it freezes for about 18-30 seconds it turns off and no lights, I've tried to rebuild the system files and fan test it but it is still happening, Any suggestions on a fix?

No lights usually indicates that your power supply is kicking the bucket. Take out the HDD and turn it on, it should display a message "no system storage is found". Then see how long it stays on for.

It's your power supply... Has nothing to do with the 2pin leads.

It could be the power supply inside the system. I think that is what skyline is trying to say.

You can buy them on ebay for about $20 with free shipping. Just make sure to get the correct one for your particular model. Should say on the bottom.

Its not the power supply. If there is no lights at all, ever, and can't turn it on or even get a standby light, then your power supply is shot.

Your ps3 is probably overheating. Change thermal paste while it can still run and hope that the problem stops. If not, you have a software issue.
