I want to Jailbreak my PS3 and I would like to know the required parts (Hardware, software etc.) that I will need. ( I would like to downgrade and load custom patches and stuff like that Smile )

I have a CECH - 2001B PS3 "Slim"

I've heard of the e3 flasher and heard that is required.

Please reply with required info and other fun/cool ideas that you guys use Smile

Any info will help a lot thanks!!!

And if I use the E3 Flasher limited edition with the esata station, can I just keep it installed or do I have to uninstall and use thermal paste our whatever it's called?

If your not going to Dual-boot, meaning switch from OFW harddrive to Cfw harddrive, no point in having it installed. I took of mine as soon as I was done. Afterwards, I added the thermal paste.

What exactly does the thermal paste do?

Is helps the heat sink, the metallic plates, to draw away the heat generated from the CPU/GPU chips.

Only if the ps3 needs it. I would remove the old paste with 91%alcohol and add the paste. This will definitely add more life to your system and not have to worry about overheating.
