The e3 flasher is not powered by the HDD port. It is powered by the NOR chip.

But, I agree he might have to file/shave/sand off a side of the clip, because of the resistors are in the way.

A connection is a connection. Once the blue lights are dancing in the code box I should have a favorable connection. Intermittent or incorrect data upload would result in the error code. That I would think has to do with a cable that is transmitting data incorrectly. Improper pin alignment also would not allow the blue lights.

For the same reason why people tell you to add pennies on top of the clip. To me....that worked for me on certain models. When I downgrade these model, CECH20XX, I use the aspirin and book method. I had to find the sweet spot by moving the bottle and adding the books over over over again. You really don't have to follow my advise and can research the cause of you error. I'm just speaking out of experience and how I helped many people with these models using the weight factor.

You're right a connection is a connection. But, ask yourself is your connection a strong one or a weak one.
"Intermittent or incorrect data upload would result in the error code"
I disagree with that incorrect data. Data is trying to be downloaded from the ps3 not inserted.

The main reason 10001100 is because the clip is not making a good connection with the chip.

The purpose of plugging in the e3 flasher to HDD port is to allow the ESATA station w/ the HDD access to the HDD port.

Well I hear you but it seems to me like one of the teeth on the clip was just bent and therefore will not seat correctly. I have all materials still sitting out but my ps3 cuz I'm playing GTA lol. I haven't ordered the clip, and I'm stuck
