For the same reason why people tell you to add pennies on top of the clip. To me....that worked for me on certain models. When I downgrade these model, CECH20XX, I use the aspirin and book method. I had to find the sweet spot by moving the bottle and adding the books over over over again. You really don't have to follow my advise and can research the cause of you error. I'm just speaking out of experience and how I helped many people with these models using the weight factor.
You're right a connection is a connection. But, ask yourself is your connection a strong one or a weak one.

I disagree with that incorrect data. Data is trying to be downloaded from the ps3 not inserted.
The main reason 10001100 is because the clip is not making a good connection with the chip.
