Post: [Help] Problem with CFW
10-17-2014, 02:42 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I recently purchased a Jailbroken PS3 from a friend and the following problems have arose:

The console doesn't allow the CFW to be updated. Error 8002F957

"The data is currupted."

Install Package Files doesn't allow files to be installed. Error 80010017

"An error occurred during the start operation."

MultiMan won't open. Error 80010017

He doesn't remember what CFW he installed but in System Information it says 4.50. The files were installed in January of 2013 if that's any consolation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't want my money to go to waste.

Now that I don't know. I think the person I mentioned forgot a disc inside while updating so they thought they were on ofw but unsure cause of the homebrew still present. Whoever helped them replied that the Xmb doesn't change when doing an update unless it's a major 1 I believe. Your situation could be different tho, I was just saying that it sounds similar.

Do you remember the solution to the similar situations problem? Because I don't have a disc in and I'm using proper USB formatting and everything

Update folder is called "UPDATE" and the renamed file is called PS3UPDAT.PUP these are both inside the PS3 folder in my USB drive which is FAT32 formatted

"PS3">"UPDATE">"PS3UPDAT.PUP"

Let me know if this helps, ps3 folder>update folder>ps3updat.pup
