Post: Restoring PS3 to "Default Settings"
10-13-2015, 08:00 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys! I was having some freezing issues when using my PS3 as DEX last night. Whenever I connected to Target Manager I noticed it freezing and whenever I tried to attach a RTM as DEX it wouldn't attach. Wtf To get to the point, I ended up starting a system restore and I'm wondering if this will fix my issues? My PS3 will keep my CFW right? I'll just have to reinstall all my PKGs and stuff or? Idk

Update: Kam helped me and now everything has been running smoothly ever since. Thanks Kam! <3

Ironically, you tried to help me there too. Any idea of what I should do?

What firmware are you currently on?

I was on REBUG 4.75.3, but then I reformatted my HDD from my Laptop. Now whenever I boot it asks me to install firmware 3.40 or higher. I tried a million different firmwares and none of them let me install lol. It says "The data is corrupted (8002F2C5)"

Were you on D-REX or REX?

I think it was D-REX. I just converted over to DEX when my PS3 froze. That's when the freezing at boot kept happening. It froze in the recovery menu whenever I tried to do anything too.

Does the recovery menu work at the moment? If it does, try Restoring the File System.

It lets me scroll, but if I click on any of the recovery options except restart it says it doesn't have permission, gives a serious error (forget the code,) or asks me to install firmware and gives me the data is corrupted (8002F2C5) code if I try to install.

Try putting the same firmware you were on before (4.75.3 D-REX) and when you turn on the PS3, see if it can update.

I will try that in a bit. I'm not home right now, but I'll try and see what happens. If it works, do I downgrade with Rogero Downgrader again or? If I reinstall, I won't be toggle qa'd anymore right?

Don't use Rogero Downgrader since it is for CEX. Use a 3.55 DEX Downgrader. But I am not sure if you converted successfully.
