Post: PS3 HDD Swap

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So , it has been months since i booted up PS3 . i changed its HDD because it was lost ( cant remember which CFW it was on ) well . now every CFW ( even 3.55 ofw ) i try to install . ends up with The data is corrupted ( 8002F2C5 ) i tried downgraders . rebugs . and stuff . its not working at all . its not even going into FSM Mode .

Put the hdd in a PC and format it to Fat32

uh , can it work with a laptop ? i mean this HDD used to be in a laptop then , i put it in the ps3 . it had another error . i did Restore PS3 something . then 8002F2C5 . all firmwares . no exception works .

Plug your harddrive into your PC & follow this tutorial.

ok i did that , now it gives 8002F2B5 and when i try via recovery mode it gives me : 8002F225. what should i do now ? and what cfw should i install ? please help

I Now did restore ps3 settings via recovery menu . now it gives me 8002F2C5 again :( . i think its a brick

The ps3 is capable of reformatting a hard drive on its own. There is no need for pc to reformat..

In recovery mode, it is the option "Restore Ps3 System".

If you cannot install a downgrader, your "new" hdd is either corrupt or you are no longer jailbroken. Try another known working hdd and if the same thing, then yea you are no longer jailbroken.

but even OFW dosent install . in recovery it says 2.50 and later . and in the normal start one it says 1.97 . so atleast even if i wasnt JB'd i would atleast be able to install 3.55 OFW right ? it happened after i switched HDDs . no CFW ever succeded in install .

You should be able to install a downgrader no matter what though, unless you are not jailbroken.


Try a 4.70 cfw or higher.
