You should be able to install a downgrader no matter what though, unless you are not jailbroken.

Try a 4.70 cfw or higher.

i tried a non BD one . altho my BD is fine . it gave a 8002F2B5 . not C5

It could very well be the hdd, but its hard to say for sure.

Your flash drive is formatted to fat32?

Flashdriveroot>PS3>UPDATE>PS3UPDAT.PUP files like this correct?

flash drive in right side port?

just trying to rule things out.

Also you are cex or dex making sure you are trying right ones?

Is it stopping at a percentage, not showing the update when you search, or what exactly does it do? Does it try then fail or just not show up?

it just never recognizes it . it just says data is corrupted . and 8002F2C5 . when i formatted the HDD in PC . i tried a NO BD CFW . it said 8002F2B5 then the 800244f ( i forgot ) but when i formatted from PS3. it says 8002F2C5 on every CFW . except 1 cfw . it said a seriour error has occured . but not the RSOD screen . just that .but with the same error code 8002F2C5

That's really weird man..It would only not find the update for a few reasons..

1. Not the right region (cex or dex)
2. flash drive not formatted or incorrect port on ps3, or broken port?
3. File names incorrect or misplaced
4. not jailbroken?
5. corrupt files?

If you can format the hdd with the recovery menu (restore ps3 system), then the hdd should be fine (normally would not go through or error)
It's probably something stupid.Sal
