And when i click rebuild data base is just keeps saying preparing please wait.
I think its becuase i litterally have no font on my ps3 when i boot it up normally it goes to blue to black scren and i hold down my ps3 but then the turn off controloer menu pops up but i dont see any words........

If i get another hdd Does it have to be from the same model number? And same ps3 syle system

It can be any 2.5" sata hdd.

You can also try installing one of these before you decide to pick one up:

You must login or register to view this content.

You must login or register to view this content.[DOWNGRADER+DEX].PUP

and I would try a number of times before you decide they just won't install

If and once you get the new hdd:
1. Insert the new hdd into the ps3
2. Boot ps3 into recovery mode
3. Select option "restore ps3 system"

Hopefully it lets you reformat.

Hmm ok

So if the font was deleted off sysytem, getting a new hdd would have the defualt fonts fro ps3 already on there?

Now I went on recovery menu and when i click some options i freeze, is that a ps3 problem or that just becuase my hdd is fuked.

Yes default fonts are already in the cfw PS3UPDAT.PUP

Can you system update from safe mode? if so reinstall the same firmware

if you cant, change hdd, then boot on the console normally and it will format it automatically ready for you to reinstall the same cfw .

if that doesnt work then reflash last known valid dump of that console

If it's just freezing then ok, probably unnecessary to try.

When you get the new hdd you must let the ps3 reformat it or do so in recovery. You can either try to reinstall your cfw or a downgrader either or, but if anything I would assume you would have most luck with a downgrader. Then from there you can safely install a cfw of your choice.

Get a usb ready with the same CFW that you was on previously. make sure to have the right path PS3 --> UPDATE --> PS3UPDAT.PUP

Put usb in the right port and then yeah turn it on normally, it will ask you to plug a controller into the ps3

Hold start and select for 5 seconds, it'll format the HDD, then install the cfw from the usb

MAKE SURE TO HAVE NOTHING IN THE BLUERAY DRIVE

Ok i i get it so if i just cut it on normally with the new hdd in it It will just reformat it then wat screen would it bring me to? Or will it just cut off Then i can boot it up in Recovery mode and click System Update or if it brings me to normal ps3 menu i click update media storgae.

Now what i dont get Is that a hdd that i get from another ps3 Is on OFW right so Why would it let me Downgrade it

1. Insert the new hdd
2. Boot ps3 into recovery
3. Select option "restore ps3 system"
This will format and bring you to a black screen asking for you last syscall (last cfw you had installed)
4. reinstall your last cfw or a downgrader

then you will be on a cfw or a downgrader hopefully.

You don't downgrade a hdd, you downgrade firmware. You are able to downgrade firmware because you have flashed the memory of the ps3 to unlock the ability to install a lower syscall, which is the part of the jailbreak that is stored in the memory. But only upon initial jailbreak, after that you rely on cfw to downgrade, which are equipped with the ability to lower syscall. I could be a little inacurate, I don't know the specific details, but hopefully that makes sense.
