You don't downgrade a hdd, you downgrade firmware. You are able to downgrade firmware because you have flashed the memory of the ps3 to unlock the ability to install a lower syscall, which is the part of the jailbreak that is stored in the memory. But only upon initial jailbreak, after that you rely on cfw to downgrade, which are equipped with the ability to lower syscall.
Omg Thanks. and one more thing how do you know what type of hdd to get? does it have to be from the a ps3 witht he same model number
