Post: Need help Jailbreaking

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello NGU, I've recently got me a OFW 3.55 firmware PS3 and I tried to download Rebug 4.80.1 D-rex firmware, but I seem to get an error which is (80029CCA) which states that the data is corrupted.

I made a folder name PS3, then inside that folder I made another one named UPDATE, then I put in the 4.80.1 D rex firmrare in the UPDATE folder, and rename the file to PSUPDAT.PUP

Thanks for the help and support!

Yes Drex = Dex, And yes that is the latest version/build of rebug 4.80 dex cfw.

& Lets state that this solution doesn't work, what firmware would I need to use inorder to get to the newest version of Rebug 4.80 dex.

Try that first and if it does not work we will cross that bridge when we get there. One step at a time.

Alrighty sounds good, also do you happen to have a Kik? Once I get home. I will try the methods. I already re-downloaded the d-rex rebug file.

I also download Multiman version v04.80.00 pkg on PC.

I do not sorry. I would rather keep everything done here so that way if we get this solved and any one else run's into this problem. It will be archived for viewing so everyone can look over it if they run into this very problem or something similar.

Hey, I think I found out the problem however, I haven't test it yet. Nor did your method yet however on rebugs site, it states that:

INSTALL:

From XMB install REBUG 4.21.x AND HIGHER over any 3.55 OFW/CFW/MFW or the same or lower firmware version CFW with spkg sig check patched or any firmware version CFW with spkg sig check patched and QA enabled.
Here is also the link to check:

You can try that as well if you wish. I personally went from 3.55 straight to 4.70 when I had decided to buy another cfw after selling my first one.

I will also try to download the Rebug 4.80 dex file from Safe mode to see if that works too. If not, then I will download the Rebug 4.21.x and see if that works either through XMB or safe mode.

I only saw one Rebug 4.21 REX file on rebug.me. So I suspect just to use that then.

if its a ps3 3.55 ofw shouldn't you download 3.55 kmeaw first then installing any rebug REX or CEX cfw first then converting to dex in rebug toolbox?
