If I were going as big as 500 mb, I would consider getting one with 7200 rpm and a 16 cache to really supercharge that ps3. With so much memory, a faster processor inside the hd that runs at 7200 rpm instead of 5400 rpm would work faster. On a side not, I've found the samsung hd's to be a little pricey. There's a 320 mb w/ 7200 on newegg.com for 99.99 it/s a WD hd, but the brand shouldn't matter much. I just ordered a 250 mb 7200 w/ a 16 cache ,seagate i think, on newegg.com for 79.99 w/ free shipping. I hope that helps
