has stated on his Twitter that the guys behind PS Jailbreak used GeoHots exploit and strongly advices us to not update to PS3 Firmware 3.42, as this will probably block the PS Jailbreak Dongle, here are Mathieulh’s tweets.The psjailbreak guys definitely used Geohot’s exploit, without him it wouldn’t have been possible in the first place.
This is a very clever hack which allows code to run a high privileges on the system. Updating would be a real shame.
You should know by the way that this CAN (and most likely will) be updated/fixed by Sony. Avoid updating to 3.42+ at ALL COSTS.

I said that If they stopped because of the ps jailbreak getting patched, then it would have meant that they were using it.

hahaha, because that makes sense don't it. Sony will defo be able to path this. I think they spent something like 4m+ on security alone, and as you can see, it has obviously paid off since it has now been 3 and a half years and there have still been no breakthroughs or credible hacks on the PS3 with the one exception of Geohot. There was also a thread about being able to detect and ban a PS3 running a game with the PSJailbreak because the game ID isn't correct and that is why TheUnkw0n and Hunter run their lobbys in LAN mode (I THINK).
