Mathieulh (a famous dude:tits has stated on his Twitter that the guys behind PS Jailbreak used GeoHots exploit and strongly advices us to not update to PS3 Firmware 3.42, as this will probably block the PS Jailbreak Dongle, here are Mathieulh’s tweets.

The psjailbreak guys definitely used Geohot’s exploit, without him it wouldn’t have been possible in the first place.

This is a very clever hack which allows code to run a high privileges on the system. Updating would be a real shame.

You should know by the way that this CAN (and most likely will) be updated/fixed by Sony. Avoid updating to 3.42+ at ALL COSTS.

That happens to me (or it used to when I used to use it alot). Sometimes you just need to try over & over. Sometimes it helps making the box checkmark, then checking for update, then onces it finds update, uncheckmark, then try signing in.

I DOnt go the exact time go, System setting and then all the way near bottom system information will tell you your FW

Yea I'm on 3.41 and theres no update...I don't think. I was playing a couple hours ago.

Yeh me too it was release when i was signed in, sign out and sign in and it shall prompt you to update, or go system update and it may say that 3.42 is out. I DOnt wanna sign out as i know it will make me update in order to sign in : P

I Have a feeling that the update got rid of debug mode. So that pressing Power on and eject won't allow you to run unassigned code's ne more.

Just a guess, not too sure maybe a hacker could confirm it ?
