This might work, now we just need someone smart to try this.

I was talking about a similar concept for file transfers the other day, but as far as I know I'm not supposed to share it

this MIGHT be possible if there was some sort of ps3 emulator on your pc so technacially it would be like ps3 to ps3 but i dont know of any ps3 emulators for pc

You would probably have to format your hardrvie which won't work unless you do it to an external hardrvie because your windows files are on there so....

I have another idea, what about homebrew ran from the PS3 web browser? Like a PS3FTP server in the web browser or even emulators ran in the web browser? The question is, would sony remove the web browser feature next?

I see what your trying to say but I don't know if the FTP server will automatically recognize the PS3 system and just be able FTP files over that simply. and If your thinking about a jailbreak from the web browser think again because the PS3 jailbreak tricks the PS3 while booting up and the iPod's JailBreakMe.com actually installs the jailbreak into the iPod while its running but the PS3 jailbreak isnt like that so unless someone finds a WHOLE new way of jailbreaking the PS3 so that it actually installs the jailbreak into the PS3 while its running then a browser type jailbreak isnt possible.
