Although, i am not sure with Claud’s statement that the PS3 firmware was installed in the internal hard drive instead of the system’s memory of PS3 Slim. If you have anything to say about this, please drop a comment. I really would like to know your thoughts since i have no experience swapping hard drives in my PS3 slim console myself. isn't the FW stored on the NAND! so im not sure if it will work

As soon as you put a new or even formatted HDD in your ps3, it says install update x.xx or greater.
Will NOT work.

Surprisingly though, I've heard from a few people that this method works. A few threads were made here about such a thing and mostly were flamed but I do recall it working for some. It could be BS or it could be true.
It's not my problem, though. I wouldn't dream of updating my PS3 until I know for sure there's another jailbreak.

i`m not a ps3 expert or something, But maybe the permision of downgrading is on the hdd?

I thought u could cancel the FW update.... Well if you can, can't you just (after you canceled update) go to system update than update via USB... IDK, just trying to think of a possible way...
