Could the same equation be used to find the black ops private keys? If so this is more than an advance for PS3, but hacking anything with private keys

True, but look at PSPs, you can access PSN, cheat online, no bans, obviously sony is too dumb to figure out how to do bans, as for who they'll ban, if anyone, you're safe with an ftp server, they'll likely only ban people playing backups
That sucks cuz i want to play backups for the increased performance, but it's sony, with stealth managers we should be relatively safe

Well, it didn't take long, a dev named netkas, has extracted the 3.50 Appldr keys. So what does this mean for end users? Appldr, is the loader that handles decrypting PS3 game executables (self/eboot.bin files). With the 3.50 Appldr keys, games such as Gran Turismo 5 can now be decrypted.
Previously, the game was unplayable on jailbroken machines, due to the fact that 3.41 did not possess the keys, to decrypt the game. It may now be possible to play the game. The first step would be to try decrypting the EBOOT.BIN and using the decrypted version on 3.41 firmware. However, this is still speculation, as the game may have other issues on lower firmware.

thx to geohot metldr keys i was able to find 3.5 - appldr key
decrypted vsh.self and pne of 3.50 keys game with it, its real!
