Its about being able to install Linux on the Ps3. Its about being able to run a full webbrowser on your PS3. Its about being able to make your own XMB for the PS3. Being able to turn your PS3 100% into a computer. Modded lobbies are nothing compared to the real possibilities. The sad thing though is that piracy will become really really bad. (Please don't pirate games. We lose support from developers when you do.)

Yes the little 12 years are getting excited about being able to host lobbies. Big deal everyone will host them so derank and things like that will be useless. Sad thing is that all good shots, killfeeds and everything will instantly be assumed you are aim-boting/hacking the game. Personally I hate CLs there pretty boring while all my friends love them. The modded game modes are fun though. This takes modded game modes, patches, games, everything to the next level of customization.

Really what this is, is the iPhone being jailbroke for the first time, it was a huge deal. This will take a while to get patched if it ever does. To patch it every single game, program, app everything made for the PS3 will have to be re-encrypted with a new code. Making older games completely useless which makes patching it even harder for Sony. Sony best idea will be to admit the code is real, then expand the PSN store and turn it into a cydia/appstore for the iPhone. To somehow convince developers to not go the bad route.

Yes 99% of people will use for modded games but they will be better. No one will care about Challenge lobbies anymore it will be about modded game modes. Modded maps possibly? Modded everything. You can't admit that Gun game, ZombieLand, Hide and Seek, Roll the Dice etc. were not some of the funnest and best things ever made for MW2.

So I get from this that you are mad and against this because the majority of people will be doing modded lobbies (not true will be homebrew and piracy) and that you will lose out because you have paid for a jailbreak stick but this is free.

i understand the point. i use my ps3 for free downloads, homebrew, and tons of other stuff not for hosting. im saying everyone else is like ZOMG LOBBIEZ IM TEH 1337 HAX0R NAO!! I like to play pubs even though i host and soon i wont be able too. GSC mods=NOT HOST AIMBOT. PS3 is now a PC.
