Tutorial:
Rename the downloaded file to PS3UPDAT.PUP.

Have a clean flash drive, its easier to understand this way.

Create a folder on usb and call it PS3.

Create a folder in the ps3 folder on the usb called UPDATE.

Then copy the PS3UPDAT.PUP(downloaded and renamed file) into the update folder.

Then put the usb into your ps3, go to system update and update via storage media.


Will continue to update as necessary... I will add correctly signed packages that we can install with this CFW when they come available, none exist at the moment. STOP ASKING!

Not much point of using this CFW until a signed .pkg gets released...
I've just updated my PS3 to this CFW but you can't really do much until a signed .pkg gets released which could be tomorrow or the day after...

im donwloading this but not installing it because imo its like buying a car with no petrol you cant do anything with it reali until u get some an we want some homebrews!!!!! lol

That thing about the killswitch is BS I think Sony are just trying to scare people in to not using a CFW it's impossible to brick a console like that anyway and it would be illegal if they did it as people spend like 400$ on a PS3 and in my oppinion if you spend that much money on a thing you should be able to do whatever the f*ck you wanna do to it

umm i dont think you can delete it cause it sticks to the 3.55 firmware

so you updated and its confirmed working?...thats good news i guess...still not gonna update without a worth while pkg to install.

i hope we dont have to put our ps3's into service mode if a new cfw comes
