This is just going to show you how you can easily test if a .pkg file is signed as official without having to go on your PS3 and test it, which you might test improperly.
First off you'll need to download this, its a retail(official/signed) .pkg extractor:

Then you just extract the .rar with winrar or a similar program and run the .exe file and use it..
Here's a screenshot as an example, just opening a non-signed non-official .pkg of ftp server:

So if you sign it as official successfully it WILL open on here, and will work on your PS3 with CFW. This is due to the program being run off what the PS3 private keys are.
