Post: Sony's rights and Custom Firmware.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Sony has the right to deny you service, they do not have the right to damage your personal property.

Here is what I see sony doing to prevent piracy and hackers:

1. when you log in it does a system check for current firmware.
- if you have anything other that their current revision. You do not get logged in, but instead get a warning about why you cannot log in.

2. Before you can play any game, it will check for which system.
- are you playing from the Blueray drive or are you playing from the HDD, if your playing from the HDD you will not get access to the system.

3. When you are confirmed as being valid. (met the two above requirements) it will tell you you must install the current patch, and will do so before the start of every game online. If you refuse, you get refued access to the online system.

That is their best way to proceed, as the CFW isn't illegal. but piracy is. Hacking your PS3 patches is not but it is Sony's right to deny you service for doing so.

This isn't even logical. And even if it was you could hide all this information. And for the people worrying about getting banned lets think here. Hmmmm.... Lets say Sony Mass banns all of us. Some of the biggest hackers in the business.... How long do you think it'll be before theres a way to unbann yourself? A day , maybe 2. Just like banned jtagged Xbox'es. It was hardly no time and there was a way to unbann your self. We have the tools, We'll use them. And that good sir is a fact.

You people think that your lives are so hidden and companies like Sony don't have the technology to actually view everything you do on your ps3. It's your personal property, but Sony knows what you're doing on it every second. It's like your passport; it's yours, but the government knows where you are at all times.

This does sound pretty legit. For everyone saying #2 is impossible because you can buy a lot of the games off of the PSN... I'm sure it'll scan what game you are playing, and weather or not you've bought it off the PSN.
