I probably think that you mean the 3.55 Firmware. Yes the 3.55 firmware is jailbreak-able. Simply just go to this thread You must login or register to view this content. , it shows you how to install the Kmeaw CFW for 3.55. The Kmeaw CFW lets you run back ups on your PS3, so i prefer that CFW

But remember, you CAN NOT jailbreak the 3.56 Firmware. There will probably come out a way out soon, but not at the moment, so just wait

I don't know but can you tell me if any updates up to 5.5 actually contained useful features, other than just security patches?

dude........have u been reading this thread at alll? 1st of alll..there's no such thing as 5.5....unless you are marty mcfly and u can get in ur time machine and go into the future with doc to the year 2020 in ur dolorean.... the lastest official firmware from sony is 3.56.... sony has some kind of new rootkit feature on it that will make it harder for us hackas (just matter of time), also seems like they claim that they will be able to snoop on us and update the PS3 automatically without us knowing about it.

Most of it, is just speculation for now....no hard evidence yet... if you wanna know exactly what's in 3.56....the best place to find it is on the official sony ps3 website... but i'm sure sony is lying thru their teeth.....3.56 is still very mysterious & what it actually does. ...... hope i could help.....anyone feel free to correct me or add more input....
