dude........have u been reading this thread at alll? 1st of alll..there's no such thing as 5.5....unless you are marty mcfly and u can get in ur time machine and go into the future with doc to the year 2020 in ur dolorean.... the lastest official firmware from sony is 3.56.... sony has some kind of new rootkit feature on it that will make it harder for us hackas (just matter of time), also seems like they claim that they will be able to snoop on us and update the PS3 automatically without us knowing about it.

Most of it, is just speculation for now....no hard evidence yet... if you wanna know exactly what's in 3.56....the best place to find it is on the official sony ps3 website... but i'm sure sony is lying thru their teeth.....3.56 is still very mysterious & what it actually does. ...... hope i could help.....anyone feel free to correct me or add more input....

sureley the rootkit isnt legal in some way and as for sony updating our systems without us knowin shouldnt b legal bcoz we have to agree to the terms and conditions and other stuff so if somewer down the line sony update our systems by 3 fw's to say 3.70/3.80 if they auto updated us sureley we cant be sued or whoever hacked it cant b sued coz they wouldnt of accepted the contract or TOS "o and they cant update if aint got an internet connection"

the simple answer for all the NOOBS out the....:n00b:...just stay on 3.55 cfw's... that's all..i dont know how much more i can emphasize this...why are people going to 3.56 without even knowing why/how/what's inside the new 3.56.....why take the chance....
