have something interesting just how edtdeckt PSN & Dragons Online is unsafe for me without the DNS from the USA to use specifically with a proxy server.

IMPORTANT:

* To this must work your PC on the same network as the PS3 must be connected.

Instructions:

* Go with the PS3 to the network settings

* Selects whether cable or wireless (depending on how your PS3 is connected)

* Click on Scan
* Confirmed the network name
* Adjusts your security settings

* Click on "Auto" for IP address settings
* Click on DHCP host name to "not set"
* Click on "Auto" for the DNS settings
* Click on "Auto" MTU
* Click on proxy servers to "Use"
* Give Now the IP address is in the "PS3 Logan5 proxy tool" is displayed (usually begins with 192.168.xx or 10.0.0.x IP)
* Click on "Enable UPnP in
* Test your Internet connection then
* Then comes a message about the system upgrade, these are simply ignored
* Then go the XMB to sign in PSN and trying to sign up.
* Then there is an error message that it also ignores
* Now go on the computer in "Logan5 PS3 Proxy Tool" and take the check in the "Firmware Update" away
* Starts the proxy and now you can play without problems in the PSN and online.

Sony have patched this when u do this it still says An update is available so might aswell just do 3.56 all bypasses have been patched now!

so i just tried after seeing this post, to use windows as the ftp, and successfully cut a file off ps3 and pasting it back using windows FTP service or which ever....(windows XP)

walking thru...

from any folder... go to tools
map network drive
at bottom it says sign up for online storage or connect to a network server
click that
"welcome to Add network Place Wizard pops up"
hit next
choose another network location
hit next
in internet or network address window put the address that your ftp program assigns to itself (im using blackbox)with this format

type in a name and hit next
hit finish,
and it should be in your My Network Places Window as a folder connected to internet

hope this helps anyone having some problems, unsure how to do this in vista or windows 7.... sorry this isn't a new topic, as i cant do unless im 15 posts or higher
