Can’t trickshot me!
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok I just installed multiMAN 1.15.04 on my jailbroken 3.55 CFW geohot PS3 and I decided to try and backup MW2. So I did it and after it finished I tried to play the game (the one I backed up) and all it did was boot me to XMB and didn't launch the game. Is there anything I didn't do correctly or anything I have to do first to get the game to play? Please help, thanks

UPDATE 2/10/11: I decided to get Waninkoko's v2 CFW and install it over geohot's. It works because I after I launched Black ops from multiMAN, it brought me to XMB and showed my Tony Hawk disc as BO instead. After that, I deleted the game utility of Black Ops and tried it launching from multiMAN again. Luckily, the game launched and it asked if I wanted to update, I clicked cancel and now I am successfully running a backup of Black Ops. Thanks for all the help guysClaps:hitman:

hammy, go to multiman folder on your pc
there is a multiMAN [EBOOT_pkg] folder probally in it
there is ebootfix.exe if you do not have it i will upload it for you.

now drag your game folder PS3_GAME to it this will generate a PKG for you put it on usb

!) Delete all GAME DATA you may have on you PS3 system for "GAME NAME" game!

1) Open multiMAN in file manager mode on your PS3 system (press SELECT+START)
2) Browse to your game (on internal HDD) and press [R3] while PS3_GAME folder is selected

3) This operation will create SHADOW copy of "GAME NAME" to:
--> /dev_hdd0/G/E00949
and --> /dev_hdd0/game/BLES00949

4) Exit multiMAN

5) Copy the generated PKG file to the root folder of USB stick or USB HDSad Awesome
--> for firmwares 01.90-03.41: "[BLES00***] GAME NAME (HDD).pkg"
--> for firmwares 03.55- : "[BLES00***] GAME NAME (HDD)-FW_355.pkg"

6) Install the PKG file from
  • menu on your PS3
    7) Launch the game directly from "GAME NAME(HDD)" icon on the [GAME] column in XMB
    Cool Man (aka Tustin) If prompted to update to newer version - cancel the update

    that are the instructions from multiman after this you will see the game in your XMBHappy

    In order to make mw2 work you need to install kmeaw 3.55 cfw. Trust me because I have been on Geohot 3.55 and Waninkoko 3.55 v1 & v2. This game will only work on kmeaw. It does not work booting it up with multiman 1.15.00, Rogero Manager, ect. There is a specific way to install it to your internal hard drive (hdd0/) by using an ftp server. YES I HAVE DONE THE WHOLE PROCESS WITH ALL THREE CFWs & ONLY KMEAW 3.56 CFW WORKS. I forgot where i found the tutorial but for now this is how I remember doing it:

    1. Install kmeaw 3.55 cfw. I recommend going back to 3.55 ofw first, then installing kmeaw.(remember you can install 3.55 ofw again even if you are on Waninkoko/Geohot 3.55)

    2. Download an ftp server. ( I recommend Filezilla or WinSCP for your computer & Blackb0x for your ps3) I use WinSCP. Put the file onto a usb and intsall the pkg file for the frp server onto your PS3.( Hopefully you know how to install pkgs)

    3. You need either mw2 update 1.0 pkg(campaign) or 1.11 pkg(multiplayer). You can look these up on google.com and find them anywhere. I personally did the multiplayer because I could care less about single player. Put the pkg(s) onto the root of your usb (dont put it in any folders).

    4. You need to back up Modern Warfare 2(US version, BLUS30377) to your hard drive(INTERNAL). I recommend using the latest multiman. This will take a while because the game is like 8GB.

    5. Once you have all of the files, including the backup, go to the ftp server & create a folder on the hdd0/ root & name it, MW2_GAME (yes all capital letters)

    6. Go into the folder under hdd0/GAMES(should be on the root). There you will find a folder called, BLUS30377--THIS IS MW2.

    7. Now go into that folder, open PS3_GAME, and then you will see a folder call USRDIR. MOVE that folder into the MW2_GAME folder located on the hdd0.(yes the whole thing, even the eboot). It should let you highlight the folder, right click, Move, and make sure it goes here://dev_hdd0/MW2_GAME/*.*--copy and paste if you want.

    8. After you've done that, disconnect from the ftp server and go back to your PS3.

    9. Before installing any of the update pkgs you need to delete the any MW2 Update data you may have on your ps3. If you have the map packs dont worry because you can always get them again from psn(if you purchased them of course).Get your usb and install the 1.11 pkg (multiplayer). After installing the pkg, the file will appear under the section where you have demos or psn games. It will say Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer. Dont ask me about 1.0(single player) because I have not tried that yet. Im sure it works the same exact way as multiplayer.

    10. Now click on it & it will bring you directly to the multiplayer menu(where it says Play Online, Splitscreen, Lan, ect)

    11. DONE!!!! If you have successfully followed my directions this will work with no problem. If anyone has any questions do not hesitate to message me. I will try to answer to the best of my ability. For those of you who have updated to 3.56, there is currently no way to downgrade & they are still working on a 3.56 cfw. Im sorry that I wasn't able to provide any links, but if I get the chance I will post them. Hope this helped.Cool Man (aka Tustin)
