(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); If your like me who woke up one morning and had your external hard drive plugged in to the ps3, turns on the ps3 and sees it lost everything, then follow this.

If you ever get your external hard drive crash and says its need to be formated when you plug it in to your PC, this is what you do:

go to start -> run -> type in "cmd" without the " -> type in chkdsk /f /r /x I:

(replace the I: with the letter of your external drive)

Windows 7:

go to Start -> Type in CMD in the search box -> right clikc the CMD result -> press Run as Administrator -> in the pop up box press Yes -> type in: chkdsk /f /r /x I:

(replace the I: with the letter of your external hard drive)

Thanks to this method, you wont need to format your drive, and you will not loose all of your precious games!!!

NOTE: This will take Hours depending on your drive, so let it run over night!

Hope This Helps!!!

Cheers!

when my hard drive "crashed" i used this program MiniTool Power Data Recovery it does exactly what the cmd does but with a gui and it recovered all my data no problems, it still takes a long time to recover the data but it works.

everything was there as before, as long as you don't overwrite new data over the stuff you have on there already, it will recover all of it.
