I.E. what functions have we paid for, been taken away from us, and how much we, as payin customers, have not been refunded and re-embursed for our losses?

if anyone has copies of the firmware updates and could make any comparisons to find out what we have lost? if we get these comparisons, then we could make a legal argument that sony has effectively stolen from us, WHETHER PROPERTY IS PHYSICAL OR DIGITAL, IF SOMEONE TAKES IT WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT, THAT IS THEFT! and sony have stolen from millions of us!:hitman:

jus read the new terms on the latest update, sony are tryin to cover their arses by saying they've taken these functions to protect our security and also altered the terms to allow themselves to access all our data on our systems, surely they may be entitled to alter software to do with the network, but altering my software that has nothin to do with online gameplay or networking, is not on! they take the ****in piss!
if that was apple sayin they were now allowing themselves acces to all your iPhones there would be ****in outrage, but as most ps3's are owned by younger citizens, who generally dont make it their business to know their digital rights, these infringements of basic rights seem to be overlooked, as the ppl affected have no idea it is being done. we are old enough to do something about it though!
we need to raise awareness of what sony is doing to the digital rights of its customers! we are paying top money, for a top console, THAT DOESN'T PERFORM TO THE STANDARD THAT WAS PROMISED OR NOW EVEN HAVE THE SAME CAPABILITIES THAT IT WAS SOLD WITH! i want all the functions of my ps3 back! I wouldn't bother, Sony are well within their rights with what they are doing. The only way you have a chance is if you didn't select i agree on the PSN T&C's. Or i suppose if you put false details in then technically you didn't agree as those details would not hold up in court.

the point is not with their T&C's. british law does not allow companies to charge for services not recieved or removed.

We're not talkin about sonys rights here, they are international corporate rights, we are talkin about british consumer rights, based on british law, something they have violated. regardless of court proceedings elsewhere in the world, we as british citizens have the right to challenge this and claim our money back.

Yeah, but everything they have removed they have Told you what they are doing and have asked you if you agree or not. don't say they dont because they do. So they are well within there rights.

Trading standards do allow a compensation of a service if it has been removed. Especially if they have told you they are taking it away.

People like you who do not have a clue about business or legislation are the ones that ruin all this, becuase you take the argument completely out of scope by arguing about what you want and how you feel, not about whats within your rights, which is what its all about.

the point is if you have read the arguments bein placed and not jus skim read mine, you'd see that sony were misleading with the maintenance of the linux systems at the time, thus not making themselves clear about the features. READ the legal sourcing i linked.

you really think i wanna take down sony? did you read the rest of the input, some comments are merely to put perspective to a situation that had not been considered by these people but if you wanna get into the nitty gritty, feel free. i jus want them to stop takin advantage of people, us, you and the best way to draw attenton is to use your literacy to paint a picture that joe public can relate to.

technically they haven't removed anything without your consent... if you accepted the TOS they can do what they want... But i still hate them!
