This is a .pup viewer that will allow you to examine the contents of a .pup. to use it just click File>open and locate the .pup file you with to see the contents of.

first off we will use envy_astro's cfw as an example. I WILL NOT LINK HIS CFW BECAUSE ITS FAKE

envy released a 3.55 cfw that alleged it spoofed 3.60 with the new auth. alot of people installed and assumed that it was a 3.55 cfw with psn but without peek poke and syscalls. In actuality it was a 3.60 OFW with two files deleted and the version.txt changed

Here is a pic showing the contents of 3.60OFW and his fake cfw
You must login or register to view this content.

the contents can be found in the modules folder. as you can see there is a date within the file names, and they are according to the release date of the firmware. since 3.60 was released in march of 2011 we know that envy's cfw must be 3.60 OFW and not a 3.55 cfw because all of his dev files are 3.60 files.

SO if there is ever a release of a firmware that promises something by a not so known dev, the best option is to view what is in his .pup, it can allow you to see if his files are what he is saying they are. remember don't make your self a guinea pig.

SOLVED.

ps3ita was the best firmware prior to 3.60's new auth, but they were not totally known. everyone starts out new and unknown at first. rather then to tell new devs to F-off, we should learn how to see if what they offer is legit. thats what this thread is for.

They do. Its not so hard to look if its an official release or not. What i mean by leechers are those who scavage this forum for it, when they cant find it they start making threads for it. If they get no reply, they use youtube. The first CFW they find makes them so happy that they install it. I say brick for stupidity so it wont happen again. as for you working on the age of 14: i dropped out when i was that age, had my own vision on how to run my life. I developed a interest in computer soft/hardware and started my own company as soon as i became the legal age. Now ive got a tattoo studio and a ict company with 12 employee's and im only 21. No diploma's or whatsoever. "You gonna become nothing without diploma's" well here the **** i am!!

Very nice work. But I've got a simpler solution for those that are easily swayed. DON'T TRUST ANYTHING WITHOUT PROOF, DEV AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT, AND JUST WAIT, WAIT, WAIT UNTIL DEVS HAVE CONFIRMED IT. Thank you for the thread no less.
