First of all. I made this thread mainly because i've seen alot of people requesting download links for their desired CFW in different sections of this forum, because the original link went down. So I thought... Instead of making alot of unnecessary threads, let's just collect them all into one single thread.
I will keep the download links up to date, and take requests if needed. Any help would be appreciated, and It would be to great help if anyone could name up some CFW’s to add up. This is because I’ve lost count of them due to being out of the scene for some time. Also some of this may already be posted, but as far as i've seen the links have either been outdated or spread around in different threads.

How do I install a custom firmware?
2. In the root of your USB stick, make a folder called "PS3".
3. Go inside the "PS3" folder and make another folder called "UPDATE"
4. Inside the "UPDATE" folder, place your custom firmware.
5. Rename the custom firmware to PS3UPDAT.PUP
6. Connect it to your PS3 and go to system update!

Well I'm not too sure about that, it has always been my luck, when I finally upgrade something (not just PS3 firmware) I'll somehow end up screwing myself over, so I can't help you in that aspect; my PS3 when I bought it, was on 3.73, and so I'm just staying on that firmware, cause I have two PS3's
the 3.73 PS3 is gonna be my jailbroken PS3, while I have the other one on the latest firmware going online. I'll just be using the data transfer method.---------- Post added at 12:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:45 PM ----------

Sorry, but you can't downgrade the 4.0 firmware, without a soldering method, the best advice I got for is to wait for KaKaRoTo's jb "I tested the jailbreak on the latest firmware 4.0 since it was released and I can confirm that it still works."​ (directly quoted from KaKaRoTo's blog found You must login or register to view this content..)
and you can find the progress on the jb in my previous posts above.
