This guide is for people on 3.55 CFW

This will allow to keep your trophies if you want to upgrade your HDD or get another PS3 (on 3.55)

Tools needed: You must login or register to view this content.

I used the Backup Data Utility in the xmb to backup my game saves and account.
It doesn't backup & restore trophies, however.
Follow these steps to backup and restore your trophies without updating to 3.60 and signing in to PSN.

The instructions below are for people with 2 PS3's (on 3.55 CFW)

You must already have your account & gamesaves restored on your other PS3 using the Backup Data Utility.

  • Start Blackbox v1.2, then start your PC's ftp server.
  • Go to /dev_hdd0/home/your user id/
  • Copy the trophy folder inside to your PC
  • Turn off your PS3, then turn on & start Blackbox on your OTHER PS3 and the ftp server on your PC.
  • Go to /dev_hdd0/home/your user id/ again and overwrite the trophy folder with the one you backed up to your PC
  • Turn off the ps3. Turn it back on, but instead of booting it normally, go to the Recovery Menu.
  • Select Rebuild Database, then the ps3 will reboot afterwards.
  • Check out your Trophy Collection and all of your trophies will be there!

The instructions below are for people upgrading to a bigger HDD

You need to have your account & gamesaves backed up to an External HDD using the Backup Data Utility.

  • Start Blackbox v1.2, then start your PC's ftp server.
  • Go to /dev_hdd0/home/your user id/
  • Copy the trophy folder to your PC
  • Turn off your PS3, and hit the switch in the back (fat ps3's only) then unplug all the cables.
  • Take out your current HDD and put in the NEW HDD you want to use and reformat it when prompted.
  • When finished, go to the Backup Data Utility, and then restore your backup data.
  • After it finishes and reboots, install Blackbox v1.2 and start it, and the pc's ftp server.
  • Go to /dev_hdd0/home/your user id/ and overwrite the trophy folder with the one you backed up to your PC
  • Turn off the ps3. Turn it back on, but instead of booting it normally, go to the Recovery Menu.
  • Select Rebuild Database, then the ps3 will reboot again.
  • Check out your Trophy Collection and all of your trophies will be there!

But Does the Data Transfer works the same as back up ? its will transfer The same account , game data and saves that also means the user id , so we might can just do rebuild database after the transfer from 3.55 to 3.60 and we might get our trophy folder in there ? can someone confirm ? this is just a theory thanks .

I wouldn't recommend doing that because some of your game saves won't work.
But even if you did use Data Transfer, it WILL NOT save your trophy folder. That's why you have to use a ftp server, and go in your user id folder to backup your trophies yourself.

I wrote this tutorial because I bought a CECHE01 ps3 to replace my CECHK01 ps3.
I was selling my CECHK01 ps3 on ebay and advertised "3.55 OFW"
Someone bought it and asked me not to update it to 3.60.
So I figured out a way to backup my trophies and restore them on my CECHE01 ps3 before shipping the CECHK01 ps3 to the buyer.

I tried this method a few hours ago before writing this tutorial.
I can confirm that this definitely works :y:

...and thanks :carling:

It backs up your trophies but it takes a while for them to actually show up on your XMB.

I have only tested this on 3.55-kmeaw, but let me know if you have any serious problems.

Hey.
Well i tried for the 2nd time now, and with no succes.
Things i did:
1) made a copy of trophy list
2) made backup of my ps3
3) Got new playstation with new hard drive
4) installed rebug firmware
5) installed FTP 1.2
6) made a copy back of trophy list to ps3
7) let my ps3 rebuild data

Well after doing all this steps i can see my trophys in the list :p
But when i wanne play a game like dead space, it says loading trophys and then i get error (80022D11) :derp:

Update: Dead space was already in my trophy list, and when its loading on my new ps3 its gonne give me a error (80022D11)

Now playing a game that was not in the trophy list (James bond) And i`m playing with no problems for now.

Update: Ok still got problems with the old trophys in the list (error 80022d11).
But when i`m going to play new games that are not in the trophy list i dont get the error.

Question: Do i have to login to psn for my old trophy list ( like a activation or something)?

Update: I think new trophys are a problem to. When i`m playing a game like james bond, and press the PS button on my gamepad, and then go to my trophy list, normaly the game your playing is on top of the list. Now it doesnt......

Update: I`m going to try KMEAW firmware. BRB....
Ok I`m on KMEAW Firmware and did the same steps. And for some reason i got the same error.......

Update: Well after some testing between the 2 firmwares (Debug and Kmaew),
the trophy`s are in the list after doing this tutorial.
But there is no way you can use them......... I think this is pointless (sorry)

This isn't pointless, and it has worked for people on older 3.55 cfw. This tutorial was written before rebug was released. I don't really know anything about rebug, and I don't use it. I hear there's all kinds of problems with it, so you screwed yourself on that one.

And besides, you've been here almost 8 months and only have 2 posts. Go leech somewhere else :p
