They should work for the EU digital version, at least the statues, Living Legend and Tactical challenges saves. When using xploder it warned me the save may be corrupted or some such message, but when trying the saves they still worked fine.
Don't need swap any files about manually, just drag and drop.

To unlock a locked ps3 gamesave, you would need a cfw ps3, but to use these saves, you do not need to unlock your own save.
Just use Xploder and reassign their save to your account.
