Follow more instruction:
The last gold brick can be obtained in a race. The race is located at the same level height as the helicarrier, above the water to the left of Kingpin Tower (On the map it is the icon of a Staff with a diamond).
Best character to use for the race Star guy (Guardians of The Galaxy). Use X button to ascend and O button to descend, don't be afraid to make sharp turns, but also make sure you don't spam the O or X buttons or you will fail.
Replaying missions from inside the Helicarrier will get you the story trophies.
For story related trophies, head inside the Helicarrier and go to the control panel, and replay the story missions. Load the mission, collect a few studs, then pause the game, choose "quit" then select "Save and Exit", it will then save and the trophy for that level should pop. Rinse and repeat for the rest of the story trophies.
Now use this Save and follow instruction:
For all Character trophies, purchase the final blacked out characters using this Save:

Just keep practising and get used to the controls of flying in free roam, then once you feel confident, go for the race (p.s. you don't need to speed boost at all to win that final race).

cheers for the response but really? because it seems like you have to, to get the third ring especially as you are constantly having to drop lower and lower. I swear Ninja Gaiden is an easier game to play than winning these flying races. I've tried all flying characters (Nova seems to have most control) but this game is actually starting to make me rage (never a good sign). Tapping x and o to ascend and descend seems arbitrary at best.

when i tested the save on a dummy account i didn't have to win the race to receive the 100% completion trophy, i played the bonus level with electro the one that has dollar bills on the logo to see if the trophy for true believer and rescue stan would unlock, as i rescued stan i quit main menu and all these trophies unlocked and also the one for completing 100% buti was still missing a gold brick.
sotry it yourself maybe it will work and you won't need to win that race

well I finally did it after around 8 tries and used Starlord (a couple of the turns around the power plant kept messing me up but its finished now and done (even with a few mistakes). I found the best way to beat it was to not care about beating if that makes sense. I hope the next Lego doesn't have any flying in it

Not tapping, holding the X or O button then letting go when you are flying at the angle that you want, but make sure that you do not repeatedly tap the X or O buttons or you will lose control completely, by either boosting fast or falling to the ground. It's fairly simple once you know how to fly.
