Please post any "theories" on MW2 hacks in this thread. If you are confident enough that your theory is new then you must be willing to check every theory in this thread to make sure you are not just rehashing old info. Please post your theory in the title if at all possible. This will make it easier for people to sort through. Meaning use "Hack with RFOM" as the title instead of "new way to hack" as the title. Hopefully this helps everyone and makes life a lot easier for all involved. Thanks to DesmondS95 for getting my attention on this.
this is probably already posted and stupid but maybe if u edit any .ff if its even possible there is a command called UseFastFile_"1" which means putting a custom .ff file in through decrypting or through proxy and running this command could be a possibility or im just being stupid as i think anyway just something ?
and I've seen a-lot of people get P.O'd about people not testing their own theory but I don't have a lower firmware ps3 so it's kind of hard to do.
A couple of things: I've noticed: It's been said that it's easier then prestige, you need to trick the ps3, and that the hdd encryption/decryption method doesn't work, and that you need 2 ps3's, and something about an mp3 file, also a couple other things I can not remember at the moment.
So what if you were to use GeoHot's exploit(tricking the ps3?) so you can edit the patch from Linux off your ps3 (which might mean no de/en-crypting of the hdd) and from there you would test it, and after that you save it as an mp3, use media connection to transfer it to another higher firmware ps3 as an mp3 and while your playing a match you play the mp3 which engages the hacked patch??
Use Linux, open browser download an injector and goto where you downloaded it, open it, make a patch file or something else, inject it into Linuxes excuse for Modern Warfare 2.exe.
Just a gay little theory.

Why is everyone still stuck on thinking it has to do with linux?
You all need to stop thinking that. The only reason anyone ever thought that it had to do with 3.15 was for HDD Decryption. And that was proven wrong.
So please stop all the post about linux. When in fact Hunter before he stopped posted he UPDATED to 3.30. He still made lobbies.
So OBVIOUSLY it has nothing to do with the Linux..
I don't doubt that maybe their first way of modding the lobbies was HDD decryption. Probarly the reason it was patched But they obviously found another method.
I know peopel are going to flame me for this. But I'm just trying to help. Because all your doing is walking in circles. And "No" I have no clue how to do it. If I did I would have lobbies running right now, lol.

Even if he did update to 3.30 he could still have another ps3 sitting around, the only reason I thought about using linux, was because you would be able to edit everything off the ps3 and not need to transfer anything from pc and hopefully it would not cause checksum issues.
We need new theories. These ones are getting us nowhere.
It has N.O.T.H.I.N.G to do with HDD Decryption. As Unkn0wn predicted, if you try by HDD Decryption, you get stuck at Symtax Error, even if you recalculate the checksums.
The Linux thing IS still a POSSIBILITY. Operative word being possibility. Instead of doing the whole "2 PS3's, do all this Linux shit, transfer to other PS3 with new FW", we need to look at it in a different way. What if we found a way to get online using an OLD firmware, instead of trying to transfer files between consoles.
