Sony Computer Entertainment Australia has been granted a temporary injunction to block the sale and distribution of those pesky mod chips. Until August 31st no one will be able to sell, import or export the devices and any firms with stock will have to release the units to Sony.

Sony has until the end of the month to convince the courts that a permanent ban should be in place, if they do not then sales will resume come September 1st. Here’s hoping Sony can do something to limit the potential for piracy that these chips present.

I doubt it seriously, if I have to pay $50 to $150 bucks I would find a way to make my money back first.

Sony has admitted that they take a loss for each system they sell and make money from the games... I am a spoiled brat? Hard to believe since I work and buy my own stuff.... But this is a pointless conversation.... and I am ending it before it goes any further off topic than it already has....

I dont think that most of you dont understand that this is not just a Flashdrive/pendrive, this thing is more of a Micro Controller there fore you would have to try and emulate it to work on a regular flash drive, Which I dont really think will be happening, However it might come around to building your own. Like completely building it, Something most people here cannot do!

Thats like you making a program with security so that no one else can have it then someone cracking it and selling it for there own profit around the world... This is 100% Great I am into the hacking scene and stuff but when you start stealing from a company that is crossing the line...

sony is just trying to cut it losses before it loses any more money, so they are doing the right thing by blocking the jailbreak. this is in no way wrong, don't want sony to do something drastic that might effect gaming on the ps3 ever. so ppl just try to deal with it and the storm of the eye will just pass by soon enough. yeah stealing from a company is just crossing the line, you got balls to do that without thinking there wont be any consequences, you are wrong if you think that.
