I borrowed my friend's MW2 to play and I was playing for about an hour when the game started to freeze.
It started freezing at the end of each game, making it so that I'd have to restart my PS3.
When I played Campaign mode, I froze after each mission aswell.

I looked everywhere for a solution to my problem and all I saw was a whole bunch of others with the same problem as I.

I came across this guy who suggested that I do a system restore and then try to play. He said it'd take 7 hours, and I don't want to waste 7 hours restoring to have it end up not working.

So I was wondering if anyone else had this problem, and if they have - did restoring your PS3 solve this issue?

Alright, I'll be trying the restore on Monday and will be testing the game out on Tuesday since I don't have the game with me right now.

I have the same problem, mw2 freezes at start of each game. Tried reinstall patch, not working.

My 60gb Fat used to do this alot, But not it doesn't

I have 60gb fat, its 4 years old now, its been 1 year since i changed blu ray drive. You guys think its my ps3 cus its only mw2 that is freezing?

My friend has the old PS3 and MW2 is working just fine for him.

And I don't think it's your Blu Ray Drive if it's only freezing on MW2, if it was a Blu Ray Drive problem - all of your other games/movies would freeze or not play.

Also, reinstalling the patch will not work (for me it didn't) so you should restore it, like I'm going to do soon. Hopefully it'll work.

Im gonna try restore everything tomorrow. Man all i want is just that black ops will run when i get it XD

Btw did the problem happen from nothing? I was playing pretty much like 4 hours or so and then after abit of WaW my mw2 stopped working. Been playing mw2 for like 1 year without no problems.
