The RPG sequel will be released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 THIS YEAR, and is being directed by FFXIII head Motomu Toriyama, the publisher's confirmed.
A trailer was shown at Square Enix's first Production Department Premier press conference in Japan this morning, in which FFXIII protagonist Lightning crossed swords with an unknown, purple-haired character. (We will find out who this is later!)
he last Final Fantasy game to receive a direct sequel was Final Fantasy X, which saw a follow-up which reused numerous character models, environments and audio.
The Final Fantasy XIII-2 trailer will be available for viewing on the official site from January 20.
Square Enix also announced Final Fantasy Type-0 for PSP, which is actually the renamed Agito XIII.

It is pushing back Final Fantasy Versus this game can go get ****ed imo.

I'm pretty sure they are going to keep the turn-based battle system as it is a Final Fantasy commonplace (only FFXIII Versus will have that Kindgom Hearts battle style). Also, I believe Final Fantasy XIII-2 will come out in Japan first (this year) and then a world wide release (just speculation though). I'm pretty excited for this game and hopefully it will not disappoint.
I agree with that type of gameplay, i don't like games that's too easy or simple to play.

Are you referring to XIII-2 or Versus? (A comma goes a long way).
If you are referring to XIII-2, any specific reasons why "this game can go get ****ed"?

It's supposed to be coming out toward the end of the year bro (winter 2011).
So yes if you can, get FFXIII because FFXIII-2 will pick up right where FFXIII left off. I had never played any final fantasy before i played FFXIII and I thought it was amazing. I will definitely be getting this along with Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim!
