I am thinking it has something to do with the problems with upgrading our hard drives. Which if you know the 3.56 v1 stopped most of us from doing this. Possibly this v2 will help with this issue.

It isn't a mandatory update. To get it you have to download it off the playstation website.

When I go to "System Update" It shows up.
If I go to System settings > Information
I'm on 3.56 already lol.

I updated from Kmeaw CFW 3.55 strait over to 3.56 OFW and im fine. That was before this re-release. I couldnt tell you if you will have any trouble now but i doubt it. I STRONGLY suggest that you run some stealth precautions before updating though.
I used EraseMe program that copies over fake files, so it dont look bad.
I didnt delete any homebrew but i havent opened any of them (they wouldnt work anyway), not sure, but i think Sony can tell if you try to open them. After you update there currently is no way to delete your history, so make sure you do it before you update.

Wait does this update on ps3 like automatically?

No, as mentioned earlier its not mandatory. Unless your having hard drive problems don't worry.
