Despite huge interest in the franchise, Activision doesn't expect this year's Call of Duty game to be as successful as Call of Duty: Black Ops, the publisher's Chief Financial Officer Thomas Tippl has revealed.
"In order to be prudent and given the enormous success of Black Ops, at this point, we have still planned a retail release in the fall below the levels of success that we have seen with Black Ops," he said talking in a conference call last night.
"So that's very consistent with how we treated that last year."

Activision previously projected that Black Ops wouldn't perform as well as 2009's Modern Warfare 2. It did, of course, going on to out-sell MW2 by 16% during its first week on sale.
But despite the scepticism, Tippl's still convinced this year's CoD will do alright for itself.
"Now having said all of that, I think we have a blockbuster retail release lined up for the fall that we are extremely excited about, which will be hopefully again the biggest game of the year."
It's still not know what this year's Call of Duty game will be or who the developer is behind it. Rumours point to a release of Modern Warfare 3, but we're still putting our money on it being a Call of Duty title from Sledgehammer Games.
Call of Duty: Black Ops launched in November 2010 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii.

I'm not trying to spark a console war or anything, I'm just saying a lot of the complaints of lag and illegitimate rank come from PS3 players. I enjoy black ops quite a bit on 360 and the PC version looks pretty solid too due to the dedicated servers. I say give it a shot at a friends house sometime or something.

yea its so ture i wouldnt mine playing with that maybe a few more attachments like undermounted shotty etc not to many tho theater mode is dam nice and a bit more guns but no more over powered guns tho.

Oh nah bro. I know you're not being gay. I used to have a 360, but never played online. In fact, I used to buy games just for the sole purpose of beating them. I NEVER got online. Until last year or something when MW2 came out. I fell in love with online playing when the try-hards were so epic at camping, and it made me rage quit. Now it's funny. I'm pretty still new to online playing.

As am I, I started online gaming with the free FPS Soldier Front (shit game) and just sort of got into better gaming as time went on. Gears of War was my first online console game I played heavily, good stuff.

ommmggg Gears of War was awesome. I think that was the first 'shooting game' I liked. Too bad I never went online with it though. By the way, wtf is this thread about again? lololol I forgot.
