Lower projections for CoD 2011 than last year's top-selling title.

Despite huge interest in the franchise, Activision doesn't expect this year's Call of Duty game to be as successful as Call of Duty: Black Ops, the publisher's Chief Financial Officer Thomas Tippl has revealed.
"In order to be prudent and given the enormous success of Black Ops, at this point, we have still planned a retail release in the fall below the levels of success that we have seen with Black Ops," he said talking in a conference call last night.
"So that's very consistent with how we treated that last year."

Activision previously projected that Black Ops wouldn't perform as well as 2009's Modern Warfare 2. It did, of course, going on to out-sell MW2 by 16% during its first week on sale.
But despite the scepticism, Tippl's still convinced this year's CoD will do alright for itself.
"Now having said all of that, I think we have a blockbuster retail release lined up for the fall that we are extremely excited about, which will be hopefully again the biggest game of the year."
It's still not know what this year's Call of Duty game will be or who the developer is behind it. Rumours point to a release of Modern Warfare 3, but we're still putting our money on it being a Call of Duty title from Sledgehammer Games.
Call of Duty: Black Ops launched in November 2010 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii.

OH YEAH! The new MW game.

You should really consider it, great game online. Plenty of skilled snipers in that game, crazy.

I hope this isn't true and MW3 will just destroy all future and present cods. I have officially stopped buying any product from failarch because of the horrible release of FailOps. Modern Warfare 2 was the best call of duty ever released in my oppinion and if it can't match or exceed the MW2 gameplay then I will officially never buy another call of duty unless Infinitiward produces another call of duty.

Longest gameplay without stopping in MW2 = 19 hours

Longest gameplay without stopping in FailOps = 5 hours

I honestly have more fun playing Halo CE then blackops

Activision are a greedy company, they do not want to put any of there money into anything. They depend on the game developers, and if they screw up they do f*ck all!

MW2 was awesome becouse:
- Danger Close One Man Army & noobtube + specially nice to die in beginning of S&Awesome face, sorry I mean Tube&Awesome faceestroy

- Marathon,Lightweigt and across globe Commando was awesome, I really enjoyed to die in that

- Underpowered UMP, Super recoil, bad fire rate and ineffectiness made it worse gun in a game, fortunately no one was so stupid that would use so bad weapon, but for example F2000 was awesome due its power and accuracy (Isn't it great if you squeeze the trigger and fire three shots and one of them hits in leg one in stomach and one in head)

-TomTom navigator was great too, for example if you play Tube&Awesome faceestroy and you get killed by guy who lays on grass with silencer and TomTom, you can't that describe wonderful feeling when you get killed by one

-Death Streak were also enjoyable, isn't real when you shoot AT-4HS (in guy who have PainKiller on) on legs and he still continues, nah just whole body should explode in little parts, but in realistic MW2 the guy continues his journey.
Also we shouldn't forget Martydom, for instance if you have 24 streak and you use nuke killstreak and you die by martydom I think you will be very happy and you won't do anything to your controller

In conclusion MW2 is the most realistic FPS i've ever played.

Would add some more, but I can't remember more at the moment

what about MW3?

I blame Black Op's poor coding and lame game for this year's if any, low sales compared to Black Ops as most new noobs won't know the difference between IW and Treyarch, they should know NOT to buy Treyarch games.
