Post: Spoofers to be banned shortly? - Auth Change In 3.60[Mathieulh]

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Following Mathieulh on twitter, it seems as if he claims Sony has changed its authentication slightly when connecting to the PSN server in update 3.60. The dev claims that sony is allowing 'spoofed' consoles to connect in order to flag them out personally.

Personal responses on this? Mathieulh seems to believe many of us who chose to spoof will be banned very shortly. Regardless, should we have to face the consequences knowning that we chose our own path in regards to jailbreaking in the first place?

Discuss.

What Mathieulh tweets about could be truth, but sony checks our PS3's prior to even signing in to psn. All ****PSN users should have noticed that when they select a user from the PS3 XMB ****PSn reports a authentication request prior to even attempting a log in. So Sony would (if they where) be able to flag up any consoles on lower fw than 3.60 just with this initial check without allowing you on PSN.

If you are connecting to PSN at all they can ban you. Only way to not get guarantee you won't be banned because you are using CFW is to keep your PS3 off a network connection unless of course you have a segregated network for it and your media server that does not connect you to the internet.

Oh well I guess it's back to Mass Effect 2, Vagrant Story, or Dragon Age which I just started.

That's the sad part, there's a few games i was going to buy this weekend for online, but since we can't get online I'm not buying them, I'll pirate them if I can't get the full experience, if it's a game I'd buy for single player I'd buy it to support the Devs still
