I dont know if i have my credit card info on it or anything but if i do is there anyway to clear that off the hard drive?

again the ps3 will not power on.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT PUT IT IN A FRIENDS PS3!!! Once it gets reformatted, your friend will too have to reformat his HDD back to his PS3. Take my word on that.

1.) Buy an external SATA HDD enclosure. Plug into your PC and reformat.

2.) Replace the HDD.

SATA enclosures don't need to be top brand.

Try going to recovery mode:

1. Press and hold the power button, (wait till it powers on than shuts off )

2. press and hold the power again till you hear it beep, than beep twice than release.

3. if that works and your in recovery, than select restore file system.

if that doesnt work get a SATA cable and wipe it from your computer

I say sell it and buy a better ps3!

yeah im going to try and hook it up.. i have a external incloser but it isnt sata... how ever i do have a great comp that will do it.

Ok mate fair enough! My ps3 never has problems but some just are unlucky.

I was actually able to go onto sonys website and take all my Credit Card info and changed my address to Gamestop LMAO!
